Piece, Love, and Happiness

What more is there in life than a good piece of pizza?

A cheap piece of pizza.

I'm notorious for my burger obsession. Equally well known among a select few people (most often those accompanying me post-happy hour) is my interest in finding the best slice for the best price. In Bloomington, there was no exception. Bar crawls turned into Pizza crawls, and the best cure the following day was the same remedy as the night before... More Pizza!

Now I'm in New York. This is one place I can safely say I do not like the pizza, with the exception of Artichoke, a place on 14th street in the East Village. Artichoke aside, most pizza here is thin, sauce-less, and tastes stale. I like a doughier version, oozing with cheese, sauce, and toppings, which I was recently told may be caused by using pretzel dough, instead of normal dough! Genius!

However, last night I enjoyed more than just my thin, crisp, slice...I had a pint, too! For $5.00 you get a slice of cheese and a pint! For New York standards, that is a steal! To my luck there weren't any booths left, so we were forced to sit at the bar. My friends, thoughtfully, left me a seat on the end, next to an attractive gentleman. Nearly done with my pint we started talking....and would you believe? He's from Chicago! Land of the best pizza on the planet!

While he went out for a smoke, I confirmed with my friends that we were all done and ready to go. I left my number on his napkin, and said good bye as we walked past him out of the restaurant. Not too sure he will call, but it was a very pleasant lapse in time, away from working, sleeping, or stressing in which I got to have my fun...and, eat it too!
